Media has a role to play in fixing Ghana’s economy — GJA President

The President of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, says journalists have a role to play in ensuring that Ghana’s economy is brought back on track.
To facilitate this, the President of Ghana’s Inky Fraternity said the GJA would roll out series of symposiums and lectures that would help build capacity of journalists to help find solutions to the challenges facing the country.
He called on all Ghanaians to contribute to the Support Fund launched by the Association to take care of journalists especially Veterans and those in difficulty.
Mr Dwumfour was speaking at the 26th GJA Awards ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
In all, 25 journalists were awarded for distinguishing themselves in various fields.
The Best Journalist of the Year for 2021 went to Portia Gabor of Media General with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation receiving five of the awards.
