The University Students Association of Ghana. (USAG) Women’s Commissioner, Ellen Techie Bonsuo says Ghana needs leaders who can go the extra mile to find solutions to the current economic crisis.
According to her, even though there are a lot of factors that have resulted in Ghana’s current economic woes, one thing which stands out is the lack of leadership.
The USAG Women’s Commissioner believes that Ghana needs leaders who can go the extra mile to find lasting solutions to address the current economic crisis.
Ms. Bonsuo said this on the GTV’s Breakfast Show on Wednesday, 9th November 2022 while contributing to the topic: “The Fate of Ghanaian Graduate in the Current Economy”.
Meanwhile, the Press and Information Secretary of USAG, Ms. Angela Aku-Sike Tagbodza also contributing to the topic disclosed that female students are worst affected during this crisis.
She explained most female students depend on the little, little businesses they undertake on and outside campus to take care of themselves, and with the astronomical hikes in prices of goods and services, it will be very difficult for most of them to run such businesses.
“With the fall of the Cedi, most of these female students have lost their capital as in value thus they cannot buy most of the products they need for their businesses” she added.
