I will help to build formidable Regional Party to win 2024- Lawrence Arthur-Atitianti
By Edzorna Francis Mensah
The Greater Accra Deputy Communication Officer Aspirant has envisaged building a formidable Regional Party which he said, will focus on winning the 2024 general election through teamwork, grassroots mobilization and the adoption of strategic and innovative models of mass mobilization.
His mission is to transform political communication in the Greater Accra Region by developing tailor-made communication strategies for constituencies towards grassroots mobilization and political victory when given the nod come 12th November, 2022 during the nationwide Constituency elections.
Addressing a cross-section of Greater Accra delegates at the Constituency, zonal and ward levels, Lawrence Roland Arthur-Atitianti promised to “consolidate the gains of the NDC making it the party of choice for young people within the region through effective and strategic communication and devout leadership”.
He also promised to help the region to develop management practices using skills as a Marketing and Communication Strategist to make the NDC party attractive and a party of choice focusing on the Youth in the Region- “ensuring stakeholder consultations and involvement in Party activities with special emphasis on Traditional Rulers, Opinion Leaders, Religious Leaders, CSOs as well as Union Leaders”.
Mr. Arthur-Atitianti again pledged to rejuvenate the spirit of the National Democratic Congress, NDC through the means of modern technological tools and “to marshal the entire Greater Accra Region and the NDC towards victory in 2024 through the use of social media and effective Public Relations”.
His policies and campaigns are premised on these three (3) objectives:
1. INSPIRE
Inspirational communication is all about creating that energy and motivation to get people to do what you want them to do and follow your lead. Whether that be in selling our various political offerings (Policies, Candidates, Positions on National Issues) or dealing with internal party matters, our message has to be something that resonates with the people we are
talking to.
2. INFORM
Communication and campaigning represent the most important elements to achieving political goals. Through our informative messages, we will sway public opinion towards specific policy issues and build support for our programs and political offerings. With accurate, timely and informative messages, we strategically choose the intent to exert the greatest possible impact on voters.
3. TRANSFORM
Transformation is a system approach, deriving its power by attending equally to the hearts & minds (the inner life of voters), behaviours, social systems and structures in which they exist.
It involves applying multi-disciplinary, integrating a range of approaches and methodologies. Barack Obama once said “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
To wit, the various misgivings that I have identified for which reason I am advocating and suggesting solutions with my election as Deputy Regional Communications Officer must first be seen in me. The process of transformation must always mirror what it seeks to create. While honouring the lessons of the past and planning for the future.
