I thought it was an imposter when Drake reached out to me
Young Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has said he was amazed when Grammy-winning rapper, Drake contacted him for a collaboration.
He said when he received a message from Drake during the coronavirus lockdown in 2020, he thought it was a fake account.
Drake featured Rema on a song titled Mention.
Rema explained that he told his friends it was probably an impersonator trying to play a fast one on him, however, they dismissed his doubts and said that it was Drake’s verified account.
The Calm Down crooner said he was still in disbelief that he asked his friend to also check it on his phone, then he raised both phones up to look at the message closely.
He was speaking in an interview with Radiojam Fm in Germany as he revealed that Drake commended him.
The Jonzing/Mavin Records signee said he had been talking with the Hip Hop star’s producer and he recorded his verse which was then sent over.
According to him, the Hotline Bling crooner said ‘Thank you’ in the message after he listening to his verse. He then appreciated Rema for his contribution to Afrobeats.

Meanwhile, CorrectNG reported how he said he is an introvert who likes to party even though he is yet to fully embrace social life.
Rema said he’s been an extreme introvert from his childhood and he never fully grew out of it, but there were some improvements which entailed being able to approach people and speak to girls.
The Mavin/Jonzing Record act stated this in an interview on Radiojam FM, Germany as he also noted that the major reasons he leaves his home is either to chase money, work or to offer assistance to friends and colleagues.
Rema said he likes to be a dependable friend which is why he is ever ready to help whenever someone needs a tour guide or chauffeur.
