Watch how a man lost his life after engaging in fight with trotro mate over fare increment

Unknown young man was killed in a fistfight about the increase in transportation costs with “buddy,” a commercial bus conductor who was well-known in the area.

After fuel prices rose once more, there has been a nineteen percent (19%) increase in transportation costs nationwide.

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has announced that, as of October 29, transportation costs will increase by 19%. Godfred Abulbire, the general secretary of the union, claims that the recent increases in fuel prices, along with the raging inflation and the current devaluation of the Cedi, are to blame for the increase.

Some passengers have been in a heated argument with the bus conductor since the price of fares was increased to 19%. While some drivers and trotro mates are collecting more than the fares, others have also complied with the appropriate fares to be taken.

A young man said to have indulged in a fistfight with a trotro mate allegedly died after the mate punched him to the ground. According to eyewitnesses, the passenger was angry because an amount of GHc2 was added to the old fare which he found absurd, hence his fight with the mate
