My fiancé hasn’t dropped any money

A Nigerian lady identified as Kemi says she has canceled her wedding due to her fiancé’s failure to release funds for the planning.

She said that since he engaged her and fixed a date for the wedding, she’s been handling all expenses because he has not dropped any money towards the wedding arrangement.

She announced the cancellation just three days to the wedding, mentioning her fiance’s nonchalant attitude as the main reason for her action.

According to Kemi, he told her that his money is in fixed deposit and offered to refund her everything that she spent.

She, however, said she visited a counselor and made a decision to cancel the wedding, though she is not confident that she made the right decision.

Kemi wrote; ”Just called off my wedding because of my fiancé nonchalant attitude. This guy hasn’t dropped one penny and wedding is in 3days, he keeps saying his money is in fixed deposit and that he will refund me. Spoke to a counselor and decided to call it off. Hope I did the right thing.”

Similarly a man reportedly canceled his wedding over his fiancée’s comment on social media where she revealed that she could cheat for money.

The woman commented ‘Yes’ when a Facebook user asked women if they would cheat on her husband for N1 million and someone who knew the couple saw it online.

The person screengrabbed her comment and sent it to her fiance who immediately ended their relationship and called off the wedding which was supposed to hold December 2022.

A Twitter user known as Josephine @JojoNitq shared the story on the microblogging platform.

The tweet reads; ”A man cancelled his wedding that was supposed to take place in December 2022 ….because the bride to be commented yes on Facebook that she can cheat on the husband for 1Million naira …someone that knows her screen shot it and showed the guy….was the man’s action right?”

In reaction, @ThatUrhoboGirl wrote; That person that took ss of the comments is wicked but as she knew she was going to settle down she should’ve been very careful in everything

@DanielRegha; Saying that u can cheat on ur partner is an ultimate Red flag; There are things u don’t say even if it’s a joke. The man was right to call off the engagement cos the lady just proved she can’t be trusted. I hope she learns from this, & acts more sensibly in her next relationship.
