Nigerian Afropop singer, Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa also known as Joeboy, has recounted how his working relationship with his boss, Mr Eazi started.
Joeboy got signed in 2017 to Empawa Africa, owned by Mr Eazi.
He said he first met Eazi when he released a song and sent the video to every artiste he could think of and it got his attention, so the Hol Up crooner reached out to him.
Speaking in an interview with UK-based broadcaster, Adesope Olajide, the ‘Baby’ singer, said a friend informed drew his attention to a comment fronm Eazi on his post.
The top singer heard his song and reached out to him. He said that Mr Eazi told him that he liked the song and gave him two options.
The Empawa Africa boss asked him to choose between getting $5,000, or him (Eazi) shooting the music video for him and promoting the song.
Joeboy said he sought the advise of friends on the choice to make and they told him to take the money because Mr Eazi might forget him.
The singer said that after some deliberation, he decided that it will be in his best interest to turn down the $5k.
He then informed Mr Eazi of his decision months later and that was how they released a song and started working together.
