Court orders Nigerian government to return Nnamdi Kanu to Kenya

A Federal High Court in Umuahia, has ordered the federal government to return Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu to Kenya.

The court also ordered FG to pay Kanu N500 million as damages for illegally abducting and renditioning him from Kenya last year.

Recall that the IPOB leader was extradited from the East African country to Nigeria in June 2021.

In the suit filed through his counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu had challenged his extradition from Kenya by the “agents of the federal government”.
