First batch of Teachers graduate from Agogo Presby Women's College of Education

370 teachers have graduated from the Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education in the Asante Akyem North Municipality of the Ashanti Region. They are the first batch of students to have completed a four-year degree course since the College became a degree- awarding institution.

A special ceremony called Commendation Service was held for the pioneers.

GBC’s Correspondent Razak Baba reports that, although they have one outstanding paper to complete, the finalists seized the opportunity to dance and jubilate.

The Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education was founded in 1931 by the Basel Mission to train Ghanaian women teachers for the then Girls’ Middle School.

The Commendation Service was to appreciate God’s protection and guidance throughout their four-year studies.

In a sermon, the Minister in charge of Calvary Congregation of the Presbyterian church at Amantena in the Asante Akyem North Municipality of Ashanti, Rev. Dr. Rexford Adu Gyamfi urged the students to accept posting to where their services are needed.

The Vice Principal of the College, Madam Rita Asano commended the students for upholding moral values which have helped them to come this far.

She advised them continue to be worthy Ambassadors of the College.

Some of the students expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of the College for their motherly guidance and counseling throughout their years in the school.

Tutors of the College were presented with citations for heir commitment to service.
