Ooni of Ife receives BBNaija’s Hermes at his palace, blesses him

Big Brother Naija ex-housemate, Hermes Iyele, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi at the Royal Palace.

The reality TV star’s visit was in honour of the monarch’s special invitation to celebrate his 48th birthday on Monday, October 18.

Hermes took to his Twitter page to share photos which captured the moment he bowed his head as the king blessed him.

He said it was a privilege for him to celebrate with the highly respected traditional ruler.

According to the dancer and choreographer, he used the opportunity to discuss his future plans and projects with Oba Ogunwusi who he described as his royal father.

“I was at ile-ife on the invitation of Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife to celebrate the King’s 48th birthday at the palace.

I shared plans about my future plans, projects and interventions .

The King who I call my Royal father assured me his door is always open to support. I am grateful for the privilege to celebrate with the King. It can only get better,” he tweeted.

Similarly, days ago, Davido paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Adesimbo Victor Kiladejo Adenrele Ademefun Kiladejo.

Davido went along with an entourage that included his American friend, who is alien to the Yoruba culture. A video showed the moment Davido called the friend to greet the paramount Yoruba king.

Davido, while delivering a speech, introduced his friend from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He said the guy was visiting Africa and Nigeria for the first time.

When the young American walked up to where OBO stood, he was confused on what to do in the presence of the King and his wife, so he tried to wave. But the DMW boss corrected his friend who was unaware of the culture and instructed him to prostrate.

However, being that it was all new to him, the greeting went wrong as the Atlanta-born man could be seen kneeling on the ground with his two hands on the floor instead of prostrating.

The guy ended up waving at the Oba when he stood up as the Fem crooner continued to address them.
