Why King Promise is my favourite GH artiste-UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson

Even though the UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson, acknowledges that she like a number of Ghanaian performers, she gave King Promise the top spot.
In a recent Joy News interview, the renowned politician named the Nungua-born singer as his favorite.

She claimed, sounding partial, that King Promise is her favorite popular artist out of a group of others because they both share the same birthday.

“Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Gyakie, all of them. I have to say King Promise is a favourite because I recently discovered that he is my birthday twin.

I really enjoy the arts, and the fashion, it’s just so rich and energizing. I am terrible at words and names, but I am enjoying it,” she said during the interview which is yet to be aired on Joy Prime.

King Promise was in the news recently when he revealed how some industry players have conspired to frustrate him from winning any award in the country.

He shared his sentiment in a fresh interview with Delay saying, “I have heard stories like ‘he thinks he’s too good for the industry, so they are teaching him a lesson. But that’s not the case. As I said, I’m fully Ghanaian to the core. And anything I do to the rest of the world is me representing Ghana.”

“It’s not like it bothers me, but at the end of the day, when I wake up after the awards, I’m the one trending, not even their awards. And I’m like, Ah, my fans are not happy. And that one bothers me. Why is everyone talking about it? Because everyone knows that I deserve it,” he emphasized.

“I have done so well for myself and the country in general. I had the most streamed Ghanaian album of all time. And when that happened, I wasn’t nominated for Artiste of the Year. But when I didn’t have any album, I was nominated for Artiste of the Year.
