In the past 20 years, I have never won a VGMA – Piesie Esther

Piesie Esther, a gospel performer, expressed her sorrow and hurt at not being recognized at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Piesie Esther has acknowledged that she is miffed over not winning a ward in the VGMA for the past 20 years. She claims that despite receiving numerous nominations in the past, she has never won an honor.

“I’ve never won the VGMA before but I have gotten a lot of nominations in the past and as human, as we are I sometimes feel hurt for not winning,” she told Amansan Krakye.

When all musicians are going to be awarded and though that’s not the ultimate that I seek for because the biggest award is that my song made someone to accept Christ,” she remarked.

Piesie Esther stated that although she feels hurt anytime she is nominated and does not receive any award, she believes that the best award a Christian and a gospel artist can get is winning souls for Christ with her songs.

On Cape Coast’s Kastle FM, she said. “There is no reward greater than assisting someone in finding salvation, yet because we are human, we sometimes feel deserving of praise for the work we accomplish.

On the Kastle Drive Show, she said, “Sometimes we feel that my song is better than the one that was granted the award, but we move on when we are unable to win after earning the nomination.
